5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (May 15)
Downs...
4. Everyone Is Shocked (Again)
Everyone, including Dana Brooke herself, needs to stop looking so damn shocked when she picks up a win on TV. The well-muscled smiler has beaten Naomi twice on SmackDown now, and even got a few spots to shine at MITB, but you'd think was some no-name jobber picking up victories with the way Michael Cole harps on.
This isn't doing Brooke any favours; it's like she's being written to know she's out of her depth and lucky to have a gig on the WWE roster. That's hardly going to feed credibility, especially when it comes across loud and clear that she's just 'happy to be here'. It's about time WWE moved on from this one-dimensional, plucky presentation.
Dana is actually quite handy when she's in there with the right opponent. She's athletic, really wants to succeed and has a great look. None of that matters when Cole and Corey Graves are acting as though the Cincinnati Bengals won the Super Bowl every time she scores a 'W'.
