5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Nov 18)

2. Why Didn’t Imperium Kick Ass?

Apparently, one of WWE's mission statements for this week's SmackDown was to mire Imperium in as much ill-needed comedy as possible then have them look like chumps in-ring too. GUNTHER, Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci should've hammered Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods for their cheeky comments.

Instead, GUNTHER stood around looking miffed as the New Day pair likened him to Lurch from The Addams Family. Later, Michael Cole strongly suggested that the reigning Intercontinental Champion would sh*t his pants if he had to defend that belt against Braun Strowman.

The latter part is fine. The first? Nah.

If anything, WWE should've kept GUNTHER away from New Day's backstage promo silliness and had him chop them during the six-man. Then, big Braun could've came in to save the day. Imperium had the three-on-two advantage before Strowman was even involved, but they didn't use it.
