5 Ups & 5 Downs For WWE Raw (15 Sept - Results & Review)

Ups…

5. Bayley Translates On Television

Throughout the weeks of painful vignettes featuring Bayley’s inner thoughts becoming audible to fans, the prevailing comment here was that this needed to make its way to live television with Bayley to see how it played out in person, versus confusing prepackaged videos.

Monday, Bayley returned to Raw to save Lyra Valkyria from a Judgment Day beatdown. She took out both Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez with a flurry of offense that she used to utilize when she was the Huggable One in NXT. She appeared to struggle with how to react to Lyra, then rolled out of the ring and began hugging everyone at ringside – the announcers, the referee, fans – like an overcaffeinated circa-2015 Bayley.

Later, Valkyria went to thank Bayley, only to overhear her having a loud argument in her dressing room. When Lyra entered, Bayley was alone, dressed in a Two-Face-esque jacket. Lyra tried to apologize for what she said to Bayley a couple of months ago, and Bayley snapped at her, calling her an idiot before storming out.

While not great, this was certainly much better “in the room” than it was on pre-tape. It still might not fly, but this was a much better week for Bayley than the past month or so.
