5 Ups & 5 Downs From NXT Vengeance Day 2024

5. Women Be Catty

Kiana James

There’s nothing wrong with Kiana James and Izzi Dame talking about “future-proofing” the NXT women’s division by targeting women who pose the biggest threat down the line.

But the vignette that aired Sunday night was just bad. Whoever wrote the script should be embarrassed they pitched this for TV. It read like someone asked AI to write a hackneyed, clichéd conversation between two catty women, not a real discussion between two wrestlers about possible enemies. The music that blared over the opening and closing of the video only made it seem more cartoonish.

It’s a shame for Kiana, who seemed to be breaking out a year ago, only to be stuck still doing this businesswoman gimmick unconvincingly. Is anyone watching this segment and buying in?
