5 Ups & 5 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Apr 5)

4. Frantic Six Way Action

The opener to this week’s episode of Impact was a high-octane X Division six way contest featuring Petey Williams, Trey Miguel, Idris Abraham, Ace Austin, Jake Crist, and Aiden Prince. There wasn’t a single bit of story coming into the match but when you have six men who possess the abilities shown here, you don’t need a reason for the match to be happening.

From the moment the bell rang to commence the action, each man got in their fair share of offence, with numerous flips all around ringside. Trey Miguel was even doing headstands on the ring apron – not just anyone can do that. Eventually, it would be a victory for the returning Petey Williams as a diving Canadian Destroyer to Jake Crist scored a three count for The Maple Leaf Muscle.

This was a fantastic way to open the night’s proceedings. Following on from last week’s story-driven episode, this is exactly what was needed. The fans gave the match chants of “this is awesome”, which is a rarity in Impact these days, let alone on one of the weekly episodes.
