Just because a “surprise” return is all but telegraphed doesn't mean it’s an unwelcome moment.

Case in point, Trick Williams finally made his way back to NXT Tuesday night at Roadblock, running in to attack Carmelo Hayes after Melo lost his match against Tony D’Angelo for an NXT Championship title shot. Trick Willie took the fight to Hayes and his personal security, sending his one-time best friend scampering.

Williams showed the manic fire of a man obsessed with revenge, which is exactly how he should have appeared after Carmelo turned on him at Vengeance Day and put him on the shelf for a month.

A match between the two former friends at Stand and Deliver is basically etched in stone and could easily be Trick’s best, a launching point for his career. The guy radiates an aura that can’t be taught, so it was great seeing the biggest angle of his young career taking off well Tuesday night.
