On paper, Paul Heyman cutting an in-ring promo interrupted by Seth Rollins to talk about Roman Reigns and a world title should be a positive moment.

But after watching the entire segment – which mainly served to set up an impromptu main event between Rollins and Solo Sikoa – it was difficult to think it was much more than a time-filler. Heyman lamented Roman not being able to challenge for the new World Heavyweight Championship, and Seth interrupted to declare he was going to win the title at Night of Champions.

This was the epitome of a meeting that could have been an email. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t exactly time well spent either. You had a tag match between Alpha Academy and Ricochet & Braun Strowman that felt like it had about five minutes hacked off it. Maybe that time could have gone there instead of Reigns making an “appearance” via Heyman’s phone.
