5. The Wyatt Logo Made Me Do It

It’s hard to critique the Bray Wyatt and Wyatt-adjacent shenanigans that take place on WWE programming. The segments are popular with fans, but they also don’t have a universal appeal. Some of them work well, while others miss the mark terribly.

Alexa Bliss has needed an edge since returning earlier this year. But did that edge need to be her zoning out and going postal whenever Wyatt’s logo flashes on a screen? Because that’s what’s happening to her these days, even during title matches.

Bliss snapped during her Raw Women’s Championship match Monday night after the Bray logo appeared, doubling over and then attacking the referee (causing a DQ), and then attacking Bianca Belair, DDT’ing her on the steps twice, bloodying the champ and leaving her laid out.

The mean streak and violent tendencies are a fine character development. Being possessed by Bray Wyatt and brainwashed into doing it is not. There’s a possibility we’ll find out in a couple weeks that this was a ruse by Alexa – that she’s come to this violent version of herself on her own, and she’s using Wyatt as a decoy of sorts.

But for now, it still calls back to a bleak time and character that we were hoping was dead and buried.
