5 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (22 May - Results & Review)

3. A Babyface Turn? Doesn’t Matter

Mustafa Ali
WWE

There’s a scenario in which Brock Lesnar badmouths Mustafa Ali as he talks about his failures and how no one thinks he has a chance in a big match could work, but this wasn’t it Monday night.

Ali was doing an interview and eschewed his Positive-Ali persona to talk about how he had dreamed of winning a match like Saturday’s Intercontinental Championship bout against Gunther. But he noted that he’s never won the big one… and he’s lost quite a bit in general. But as he lamented his likely fate, Brock walked by on his way to the ring.

Lesnar stopped, looked at Ali and told him, “Get a life kid.” And what did Mustafa do? He shrugged and walked away, acknowledging yet another person writing him off.

Now, if Ali had a chance in hell of dethroning Gunther, this could work with Mustafa using this as fuel for the title match. But that’s not what this likely was. It was just Brock putting Ali down and him slinking away before his mugging on Saturday.
