5 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (July 23)

Downs...

5. Nobody Wins

Big E

Apparently, Big E teamed with Cesaro and 'King' Nakamura to take on Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode and Apollo Crews for the live crowd in Cleveland. That happened whilst cameras cut away to the Rolling Loud festivities in Miami, and it would've kept the live crowd entertained.

It would've been nice to see it!

All TV viewers were shown was a brief promo train that stopped E from getting his MITB point across. Worse, Intercontinental Champ Crews continues to look like an afterthought, and The Dirty Dawgs weirdly claimed you couldn't talk about the IC belt without talking about them - they're a tag-team?

WWE missed the chance to hurtle Cesaro towards a title shot that seems inevitable too. Why even bother showing the set up for this six-man if fans at home weren't going to see the actual match? This was clumsy and annoying.
