Last week was a sensational night for SmackDown.

WWE popped fans in Texas by delivering a fine night of returns, action and build towards Money In The Bank. Following that up was always going to be difficult, and WWE...didn't really come through. Some odd decisions blighted Friday's offering and made it very much middle of the road.

John Cena continued his TV tour by repeating a challenge to Roman Reigns, but somebody else popped up to take his spot as the show went off-air. Earlier, that same man had burst back into in-ring contention by beating a fine heel who's practically Teflon at this point. Meanwhile, fans waiting on JC to come out and complain kept waiting. And waiting.

And waiting.

SmackDown also landed at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami Gardens. Thank God WWE didn't run the whole show there though, because festival-goers couldn't have given less of a toss about pro wrestling. They wanted Post Malone and A$AP Rocky, damn it, not The Street Profits and Bianca Belair.

Here are all the 'Ups' and 'Downs' from a mixed bag of WWE fare...
