5 Ups & 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Oct 2)

1. Hung Out To Dry

There's a lot to unpack when it comes to Raw's show-closing Cruiserweight segment. We'll get to the good in a moment, but the big reveal was poorly done, and contributed to one of the flattest Raw conclusions all year.

Enzo Amore's proclamation that nobody on the Cruiserweight roster could challenge for his title guaranteed a surprise appearance, and sure enough, the champ's words drew Kurt Angle from the back. Amore threw the pitch, and the GM tried to hit a home run by talking up Enzo's next challenger like a major, game-changing acquisition.

Sadly, Angle struck out as soon as he stepped on the base.

Kalisto was unleashed, and the crowd reaction was embarrassing. There arena went deathly silent as the former Lucha Dragon hit the ring, put Enzo down, then closed the segment standing tall, and WWE should've seen it coming.

The fans have no reason to care about Kalisto in 2017, as the company have done next to nothing with him all year. He's a tremendous wrestler, and somebody who should've joined the Cruiserweights a long time ago, but WWE set him up to fail here. Shame on them for hanging Enzo's next challenger out to dry, putting him in a position that was always going to flop and making him look like a fool.
