5 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (Oct 3)

2. Which Is It?

Bayley made a pretty bold declaration previously when she said that Bianca Belair was the chosen one, handpicked by higher-ups to be the face of the women’s division and to hold championships. You might have disagreed, but at least she gave focus to her anger at the champ.

Monday, however, Bayley added a new tact: She suggested that Bianca was now representing what Bayley once did. The little girls who wore headbands and side ponytails and cheered the Huggable One now were chanting for the EST. The kids stopped caring for her and her career spiraled.

So Belair is the handpicked champ who also became the new Bayley, who had to work and scratch and claw to earn everything she got (as she said). Which is it?

It’s true that heels can make stuff up as they go, but the rivalry doesn’t match the quality of the match we’re most likely going to get on Saturday. A better build could have made this feel like the feud of the fall, but instead, it just feels like Bayley is the flavor of the month who will deliver the goods and might actually win.
