5 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE WrestleMania 38 (Night 2)

Downs...

6. The Undertaker (And Other Wastes Of Time)

A problem across both nights, WWE wasted an egregious amount of time on recaps, cinematics, overlong vignettes, and unnecessary indulgences on this show, tossing around 45 minutes into the void without good reason.

The Undertaker's second consecutive Hall of Fame walk-out and a Mark Wahlberg-narrated introduction that had already aired on night one were amongst the most irritating offenders. Elsewhere, the insistence on constantly cutting to minutes-long highlights from a show that only went down 24 hours prior was extreme, even for WWE. The old line about treating viewers as if they possess a goldfish's attention span would apply if not for studies indicating the average human is now even more scatter-brained than the popular pets.

Pure filler content that makes WWE programming overly long is borderline understandable when it comes to Raw, as WWE has three hours of the network's time to fill. Here, they are streaming live on Peacock and their own WWE Network. They are largely responsible for deciding how long things go - and insist on wasting your time anyway.

Cut this stuff in half and WrestleMania 38's second night would've been a leaner, easier watch across the board.
