5 Ups & 7 Downs For WWE Raw (8 Sept - Results & Review)

5. El Grande Conquistadors

WWE Raw El Grande Americano AJ Styles
WWE

Maybe this is just a personal gripe and the entire El Grande Americano saga just isn’t for this writer, but the continued story with Ludwig Kaiser under a mask just isn’t doing it.

Grande suffered his first loss on Raw Monday night when AJ Styles defeated him, with a little help from Dragon Lee, who neutralized a second El Grande Americano (likely Pete Dunne). The entire story has transformed from the original Chad Gable trying to learn how to beat luchadores to a German wrestler who has been under-utilized getting a second life as an American luchador.

The match itself was fine, with a pretty sweet reversal series for the finish, but it just feels like everything is on a hamster wheel, spinning around and going nowhere. They’ve just brought Styles into this vortex to freshen up the matchups somewhat.

Wake those who aren’t buying it when something fun and interesting happens. There is still hope that something will spark.
