5 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (June 28)

Ups…

5. Priest, Riddle Get Some Time

While we were able to lavish some praise on the opening battle royal for weaving in numerous storylines from several of its participants, the match itself was actually pretty good.

The action kept moving, with the various storylines keeping things interesting, while Jinder Mahal proceeded to toss five people, looking pretty decent for a former WWE Champion. But the big part was when it got down to just Riddle and Damian Priest, and the two got a couple of minutes to tangle. Both had a couple of nice attempts to eliminate the other, with Riddle getting a flying triangle that pulled Damian over the top rope to the apron.

The idea of Riddle winning as a proxy for an absent Randy Orton is something else, but we’ll judge the match itself on its strength.
