The 24/7 Championship is long past its sell-by date and should be jettisoned because it has far more bad days than good days, but Sunday was one of its better nights.

R-Truth showed up during the kickoff show to talk about a legendary WWE figure who was celebrating his 30th anniversary at Survivor Series, and then threw it to a video package about… the Gobbledy Gooker. Spot on, and perfect from Truth.

He then brought the Gooker out to join the panel, only for Akira Tozawa to show up and confront Truth. In the melee, the Gooker rolled up Truth to win the 24/7 title.

Yes, the Gobbledy Gooker won a title at Survivor Series 30 years after it debuted.

The Gooker then fled, with Truth giving chase, in what has to be one of the better moments for the title in the past couple of months. Of course, the Gooker’s reign was not long for this world, but that’s to be expected.
