5 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Survivor Series 2020

4. Nothing More, Nothing Less

No one was expecting – or wanting – to see Sami Zayn pull a rabbit out of his beard and beat (or even get a lot of offense against) Bobby Lashley on Sunday, and thankfully, WWE didn’t try to show us up.

Lashley controlled much of the match, with Zayn getting some weaselly offense in here and there. But he was no match for the All-Mighty. Sami clearly recognized that and spent almost as much time jawing with and antagonizing the Hurt Business as he did fighting Lashley. Clearly, he was trying to egg them into hitting him and drawing a DQ.

Zayn went so far as to “trip” over MVP’s foot, claiming to the ref that Porter put his hands on him, but it didn’t work, and moments later, Lashley tapped him out with the Hurt Lock.

Normally, you’d say that beating the Intercontinental Champion like that is an embarrassment, but this is so in-tune with Zayn’s character that it worked just fine. And Lashley looked good winning, so there’s that as well.
