5 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (Feb 1)

2. Orton In The Rear View

For one minute, let’s set aside the stupidity that was the climax of the Raw main event, which saw Alexa Bliss magically appear atop the turnbuckle, bathed in purple light and drooling blood.

Bliss showed up as Randy Orton was closing in on Edge for the kill, only to get distracted and then fall prey to a spear, losing the match. It was every bit the lame, ridiculous stuff they’ve been using over and over with Alexa, but there was a difference this time: it was the end of Orton going after Edge.

Presumably, this was the end of their underwhelming rivalry, a feud that started with such promise but devolved into WWE’s attempts at an “epic” feud. Hopefully, we no longer have to see the two veterans trying to have an “epic” match and can just move on.

That alone merits an “up” here, regardless of the mystical Bliss stuff.
