5 Ups And 11 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (May 27)

9. More 24/7 ‘Goodness’

Smell the unpredictability of the 24/7 Championship!

That’s really the selling point of WWE’s newest title, as R-Truth barreled his way through Raw Monday night, escaping from the ringside area and then from the Usos’ Memorial Day block party with his title intact.

Truth is maybe the only person on the roster who can make the championship entertaining, as his natural penchant for comedy lends itself to this gimmick. But watching everyone scramble around for the title was just sad.

For example, why are the Good Brothers arguing over pinning R-Truth for a stupid singles title rather than trying to get a tag title match against Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins (who haven’t wrestled on Raw since they lost to the Viking Raiders three weeks ago)? Was it really worth it for Cedric Alexander to leave 205 Live to “compete” for the 24/7 Championship? Who did Eric Young piss off to lose his Sanity stable (and his beard) to be a faceless loser flailing for that ugly belt?

At least with the old Hardcore Championship, there were actual, real matches that took place, along with the backstage scrambles.

There’s bad comedy, and then there’s just bad. This is just bad.
