3. R-Truth And Goldust Has Been Seen Before
WWE are really keen to feature as many segments as possible involving R-Truth and Goldust. The pair could be a valid 'odd couple' tag-team, but the whole thing feels like a hangover from one of Goldust's old tandems from many years ago. From 2002-2003, for example, the bizarre one teamed with Booker T. The interaction between both men was excellent and fans lapped up the awkward comedy the pair became known for. What started as 'let's give these guys something to do' turned into one of the best acts on the show and the pair were genuinely over as stars of the tag division. In contrast, R-Truth and Goldust are just starring in oddly-produced skits that don't really seem to be going anywhere. They feel too similar to what has come before. It's a clear case of 'well, it worked once before, why not try it again?'. It's not really working, guys. On this week's Smackdown, they once again hammed it up. Goldust again tried to convince R-Truth that they had potential as a tag-team, but his claims largely fell on deaf ears. This needs to go somewhere and fast, because WWE are really risking things by effectively replaying the same idea over and over again.
