5 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Feb 18)
3. Chris Jericho Came Across As A Jerk Heel
It's a good thing that Chris Jericho wasn't just all pally with AJ Styles on Smackdown. The relative WWE newcomer was finally handed some mic time on Monday Night Raw, challenging Jericho to a match at Fastlane. That would be a 'rubber' match, because they each hold a victory over the other man at this point. In heel-like fashion, Jericho said that he would give his answer on Smackdown. Further infuriating Styles and the fans, the Canadian then announced that he had nothing to prove and wasn't interested. It came across like the WWE veteran didn't feel AJ was on his level and therefore didn't want to give him the rub of working with him a third time. Styles forced the issue by attacking Jericho and goading him in to accepting the challenge. This helped turn what could have been a lame duck of a segment into a meaningful one. Jericho is so good at coming playing a total jerk, so it's cool to see him reintroduce that back in his current persona.
