5 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (March 31)

1. Dean Ambrose Didn't Look Especially Crazy

WWE's writing team deserve credit for really trying to push the idea that Dean Ambrose is mental over the past few weeks. Segments involving the likes of Mick Foley and Terry Funk have been wonderful, working wonders to drive home the fact that Ambrose is prepared to do anything at WrestleMania when he meets Brock Lesnar. His tepid performance on this week's SmackDown didn't do much to further that particular story. This was just another match, and a largely slow, plodding one at that. Going close to 15 minutes, Ambrose and Rowan used restholds aplenty to slog their way through proceedings. It would have been preferable to see a shorter, more chaotic battle, even one ending in disqualification for the babyface. If he had pulled out a barbed wire bat to beat down The Wyatt Family member, a DQ would have been logical. That may have hammered the point into the minds of fans, Dean Ambrose doesn't care about match results, he cares about being a lunatic who can't wait to get his hands on Lesnar. This main event didn't come across that way, it was pretty mellow.
