5 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (May 19)

3. Kevin Owens Gets To Look Smart

The Miz Sami Zayn Cesaro

As the situation started to slow, The Miz, Cesaro and Sami Zayn were all down in the middle of the ring. Meanwhile, scouting his rivals from the safety of the entrance ramp, Kevin Owens couldn't hide his happiness at that fact. Laughing as his rivals at Extreme Rules brawled, KO looked like the clever one.

The easy scenario would have been to put The Miz in his shoes, but there's nothing wrong with making one of the challengers look like he has the advantage. If it's booked properly - as it was here - making a champion look slightly foolish can only add fuel to the fire going into a pay-per-view.

Better yet, Owens looked opportunistic by rolling up Cesaro due to various distractions that were going on. Cesaro was protected slightly by those distractions, and doesn't really go into Extreme Rules lacking much momentum either. Credit where credit is due, this was some great writing by WWE.
