5 Ups And 4 Downs From WWE King Of The Ring 2015

Ups€

5. Playing Up History

The big thing WWE had going for it with the King of the Ring tournament was that it has such a rich history. When you can point to winners such as €œStone Cold€ Steve Austin, Bret €œHitman€ Hart, Triple H, Randy Savage, Harley Race, Edge, Brock Lesnar and Booker T., you€™ve got a good basis to build upon. Thankfully, WWE smartly chose to play up this history this week, referencing numerous winners over and over. At one point, JBL was asked what a victory could mean for Neville€™s career, and he responded that KOTR has been won by some of the most prominent stars in WWE history. That€™s a pretty good nod to history right there. For a company that likes to ignore and sometimes rewrite its own history, when WWE decides to draw upon its history, it usually does a nice job of incorporating it.
