5 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (March 19)
DOWNS…
5. Odd Timing
This isn’t a mark against the idea of Bayley and Sasha Banks feuding; it’s a knock against when and how they’re moving in that direction.
Sasha’s selfish actions at the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber are in keeping with personality, and while having Bayley stand up for herself recently might make sense in a way, it doesn’t seem like they’re moving toward an actual match between the two before or during WrestleMania.
And that’s the problem.
When this started unfolding, we noted that it had the makings of a good “best friends explode” match at Mania. But instead, they’ll be competing in the women’s battle royal, where one of them will likely turn on the other, when Mania was a logical place for a blowoff match.
If not, then why start building to this feud now? Mania could have launched the turn in full force instead of stringing it along. It just feels odd. Still, this could be a decent feud once it gets going, especially if Banks goes full heel and rekindles her spark from NXT.
