5 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (April 15th)
4. Carmella Set To Leave The So Sawft Crew?
Enzo Amore and Colin Cassidy are the New Age Outlaws of their generation. They're no one's idea of premium grade-A workers, but they've got a grungy from-the-street look and an two-handed extended pre-match patter that the crowd know by rote and chant with glee. All together: "My name. Is Enzo Amore. And I am ..." The only thing holding them back from solid babyface status, however, is their association with Bada Bing Hottest Chick in the Ring and staunch villain, Carmella. Her presence with Enzo and Cass creates a conflict for the fans, as by her in-ring actions she's still most definitely a heel, and the crowd are more than happy to treat her as such. But a split is coming. This week, during the Jersey Boys' match again Team Angle-lookalikes Fulton and Dawkins, the tag-team champions Blake and Murphy made their way to the ring. But their sights weren't set on Enzo and Cass. They had different designs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=40&v=tHpn-MNHmeo This has been happening for a while, Blake and Murphy on numerous occasions showing affection for Carmella and telling her that she's better than the company she's currently keeping. This is slowly but surely creating a rift between her and her team, another example of NXT taking things at a leisurely, but organic pace. It's solid story progression so when the Bonafide G and Big Cass finally get their tag-team title shot, count on Carmella to cost them the belts, letting the two guys finally flourish as the babyfaces that the crowd has anointed them to be.
