5 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Crown Jewel 2022

3. A Big Disappointment

If WWE’s goal with the Last Woman Standing match was to make Bayley (and to a much lesser extent, Bianca Belair) look foolish and almost comical, then mission accomplished.

The Raw Women’s Championship match saw Belair defend against the Damage CTRL leader in a bout that saw Bayley flailing wildly with weapons as they brawled around ringside, using the steps, kendo sticks, chairs and a ladder as weapons. But when Bayley came out from the back with a golf cart and attempted run Bianca over, we had officially jumped the shark.

Worse, they then fought on top of the cart, tentatively battling on the flimsy roof until Belair incapacitated her opponent long enough to drive back to ringside and sling her off the top through a table… almost. Bayley overshot the table and cracked her head on it on the way down, then Belair powerbombed her through it… for a 9 count.

We still had to endure what likely seemed like a creative ending, with Bianca trapping the Role Model inside the ladder and then wedging it under the bottom turnbuckle. While it looked pretty obvious that Bayley could have squeezed out, she flailed around for the full 10 count, ending this disappointment.

Please let this be the end to the feud, because it’s probably not worth trying to salvage it at this point.
