5 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Extreme Rules 2020

2. Asuka, Sasha Have Mad Chemistry

The title says it all. Asuka and Sasha Banks delivered a really solid match that featured a ton of nifty moves, stiff strikes and crafty counters. Aside from the screwy finish, this was looking like a pretty damn good match.

Asuka came into Extreme Rules holding the Raw Women’s Championship, but she left without it, though whether it remains that was will have to be determined later. But the match itself was good fun, with Banks turning up her vicious streak by working on the Empress’ arms and shoulders, even at one point stealing a page from Pete Dunne and bending Asuka’s fingers back.

But Asuka kept fighting back with her usual flurry of kicks, knee-strikes, hip attacks and German suplexes to put Sasha on the mat. It just got really messy at the end with title belts, green mist and a stolen referee shirt really dragging everything down.

Still, overall this was an enjoyable match for the most part, and we’d love to see them run it back with a cleaner finish.
