5. Rumble Re-Watch Brings Focus

Drew McIntyre Royal Rumble

Being forced to sit through the entire Royal Rumble match again did give this writer a new appreciation for one thing: the buildup and story of Drew McIntyre.

The first half of the Rumble built up Brock Lesnar as a dominant champion who ran through everyone – until McIntyre entered at #16 and booted The Beast from the match. McIntyre then had to contend with AJ Styles, whom he faced off against a couple weeks earlier, then ran into his old running buddy Dolph Ziggler.

All of this carried through to the end, with McIntyre overcoming the inevitable Roman Reigns tease and winning it all.

Of course, this could have been accomplished by showing a series of snippets fused together, cutting a 60-minute match down to about 15 minutes pretty easily.
