5 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Roadblock: End Of The Line

4. Zayn ‘Survives’ Strowman In Slow Motion

When Mick Foley announced a match between Sami Zayn and Braun Strowman for Roadblock, it seemed like an odd, but interesting angle: If Zayn could last 10 minutes with Strowman, he would win.

Maybe this would turn into a bout with Braun brutalizing Sami and the underdog coming back to take the behemoth down. Maybe we’d get to see something new and different from Strowman since he now had to go 10 minutes in a match.

Unfortunately, what we got was Strowman wrestling in slow motion, hitting Zayn with clubbing blows and then gloating and/or looking at the clock. Repeat, and repeat again. Then Strowman stood outside with Mick Foley (who was holding a white towel) for an eternity encouraging him to throw in the towel.

Only in the last minute did Zayn recover and the pace of the match finally pick up, but even then, it still ended abruptly, with Sami hitting a Helluva Kick that stunned Braun. Zayn didn’t look like a survivor of a brutal battle, he looked like a glorified jobber who just hung around while a slow-motion goon went through the motions.
