5 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Roadblock: End Of The Line

3. Roman Luger

Former WCW superstar Lex Luger gained a reputation during his time with the company for not being able to win the big one, and it was plainly obvious that he was a step below some of the biggest stars in the company.

Cue today’s WWE, where Roman Reigns is attempting to perform at a high level of competition, but he is unable to win a major title due to the champ taking various shortcuts to retain his title. Unfortunately for Roman, he just falls short and might even look somewhat strong, but he once again isn’t the guy holding the title.

Reigns isn’t in Lex Luger territory yet, but watching him lose big title matches (including televised and PPV bouts) makes you wonder if he’s going to keep losing these major matches and raise questions of why he keeps getting these shots. At some point, it just gets ridiculous to keep getting major title opportunities and constantly coming up short.

Luger’s choke artist repertoire preceded him. If WWE management won’t go all-in on Roman but keep him in this position, he could become known as a choke artist as well.
