5 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Roadblock: End Of The Line

2. The Boss Gets Beat

Some wrestling observers will note that the thrill of wrestling is in the chase for a title, not the actual reign itself. A wrestler journeying to overcome adversity and work his/her way up is a more compelling story than a champ holding onto a title forever.

But watching Sasha Banks’ career arc the past few months, she’s looked like less than a compelling story as a three-time champ. She can win the big matches on Raw, but can’t win on PPV. And Charlotte might as well have the title named after her at this point. Aside from Sasha’s three reigns barely totaling two months, Charlotte has had a stranglehold on the Women’s Championship.

Sasha losing the last match of a feud won’t really help her get her ahead or lend the credibility that a long(er) title reign would have had. Instead, she’s now the woman who wins big TV matches, but loses when it comes time for the PPV.
