5 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (June 4)

1. Ronda Looks Like A Rube

If WWE’s goal was to make Ronda Rousey look like a green, jealous doofus, mission accomplished.

Fans can argue all day about whether it’s too much, too soon with Rousey challenging Nia Jax for the Raw Women’s Championship, but if you’re going to book it, then book it correctly. You’ve got the Baddest Woman on the Planet challenging the Irresistible Force. And WWE can’t even do that right.

Rousey sounded more wooden on commentary than David Otunga, and then she raged at Nia because Natalya injured herself running the ropes. Rowdy Ronda wouldn’t let Jax check on her in the ring, pushing her away, and then she sniped at Nia backstage later, asking her if she hadn’t already “done enough.”

Again, Nia never touched Nattie to cause the “injury.”

All of this came off extremely poorly, making Rousey look incompetent and jealous of Jax’s friendship with Natalya. If you were in the “Ronda’s not ready” camp, this bolstered your argument, both in storyline and in real life.
