4. Hardy, Sheamus Slug It Out

Sheamus spent weeks tormenting Jeff Hardy, even framing him for drunk driving, and while the story was set up for Hardy to overcome the bully, he wasn’t able to topple the bigger adversary.

The two had a pretty hard-hitting, solid match, laying into each other quite a bit, with Sheamus controlling much of the match but Hardy making some well-timed comebacks. The match itself worked well because Sheamus is a pretty convincing bully, and Jeff is a pretty damn good sympathetic babyface fighting from underneath.

The result was an entertaining contest between the two as Hardy fought for redemption and revenge against Sheamus. What made it interesting is that you would have thought that Hardy would get his revenge, but instead, it was the Celtic Warrior countering a Rail Runner with a Brogue Kick, followed by another Brogue Kick inside the ring for the clean win.

n this case, the bully was just a bit better. Where they go from here remains to be seen, but you’ve either set up for Hardy digging deeper for redemption, or Sheamus being a new challenger for the Universal Championship.
