The clock might strike midnight for Apollo Crews sometimes soon with Paul Heyman out as Raw executive director, but at least he notched a win Sunday night, defending his United States Championship against Andrade.

The kickoff show match itself was a decent one, with Crews showing off his power and agility as he got a convincing win over the former champ. Apollo also benefited from some backup from Kevin Owens, who countered Angel Garza’s distraction with a Stunner, allowing Crews to nail a toss powerbomb for the win.

Maybe WWE will actually allow Crews to develop as champ and continue to come along, but most likely, the clock is ticking for him, so this might be his moment in the sun.
