5 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE Extreme Rules 2015

4. Pick A Side

Need evidence of why the Bella Twins are more of a detriment to the Divas division than a positive? Look no further than the past week. On Raw last week, Nikki was on commentary suddenly acting like a face after eight months of being the biggest female heel in the company. Sunday, the announcers kept talking up what a great champ Nikki Bella has been and praised her as if she was her boyfriend, John Cena. With the newly turned Naomi being the aggressor, it left Nikki to be the de facto good girl. The problem with that is that we€™ve seen no redeeming moment from the Bellas to justify them as faces. Naomi attacking Brie on the outside doesn€™t turn them €“ it makes Naomi that much more of a villainess. To top it off, Nikki retained her title because of Brie€™s interference (again), but this time, Michael Cole justified it as payback for Naomi€™s earlier kick. To accept that, you have to ignore the last several months of the Bellas working in tandem to retain Nikki€™s title. What you end up with is a crowd that is confused whether it should cheer or boo the Bellas, so it ends up being largely silent €“ which is a shame because Nikki and Naomi had a pretty decent little match. At Extreme Rules alone, Nikki was portrayed as a heroine, then needed outside interference to retain her title. Pick a role and stick with it.
