5 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE Money In The Bank 2015

5. What€™s Up With The King?

Congratulations WWE, you brought back the King of the Ring tournament to completely crap all over it. There was a time when being King of the Ring was a big deal. Bret Hart, €œStone Cold€ Steve Austin, Triple H, Edge, Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar and Booker T all rode the KOTR tournament victory to bigger and better things. But King Barrett? He gets to lose to a comedy performer who€™s afraid of spiders and heights, R-Truth. To put this in perspective, imagine Angle fresh off his 2000 KOTR victory and losing several times to Naked Mideon. Or Lesnar being beaten by Steven Richards in 2002. Sunday, Barrett lost to the man he described as the €œVillage Idiot,€ R-Truth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NowXxEXvfg Seriously, unless King Barrett is going to recruit a court and start on a winning streak, this gimmick (the entire KOTR deal, not just King Barrett) needs to die on the vine, fast. What is the point of crowning Barrett king if there literally are no plans for him other than to lose matches? Since the tournament, Barrett is now 4-7 in televised matches, losing to Truth, Dolph Ziggler, Neville and Roman Reigns, and two of those victories have come against the hapless Jack Swagger.
