5 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE Payback 2017
1. House Of Horrors Bores To Tears
This was a joke, wasn’t it? A rib on the Hardy Boyz for their “Final Deletion” sketch/match, right? It wasn’t intended to be a real bout… was it?
And yet, WWE did just that, producing a pre-recorded “brawl” between Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt in a “house of horrors” match that drew huge boos from the fans in attendance who had to endure that mess. It was awful. Consider that the house itself was illuminated in blue (which later changed to red when Wyatt uttered his “Follow the buzzards” line. The “live video feed” included numerous rapid jump cuts, while the fight itself was boring and nonsensical.
All in all, it was an awful concept, poor executed, and poorly planned out. Oh, and Wyatt dropped a refrigerator on top of Orton, and then Wyatt stole Randy’s limo ride to head back to the arena. Because why not? And then Orton managed to still be there when Wyatt raised the lights in the ring later on.
Just awful. Let’s us never speak of it again.
