5 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE Raw (Feb 7)

3. More Miz Filler

Dominik Mysterio The Miz WWE Raw

It’s becoming increasingly painful to watch how WWE tries to shoehorn Miz into their programming these days. The feud with Edge started with some potential but became a burden by the time Royal Rumble rolled around (yet the match was fine).

Now, Miz is being programmed into a feud with the Mysterios, and it just feels like a time-filler, putting Rey and Dominik on TV. Last week, Dominik lost after Miz used deception (but decidedly didn’t cheat) to distract his foe. Monday, Rey and Dominik claimed Miz “cheated,” which led to an extended discussion about Miz being a cheater, which droned on forever. Miz lamented how Eddie Guerrero is celebrated for being a cheater, but he’s booed. *Yawn*

Then we got a rematch from last week, with Maryse getting caught tripping up Dominik and getting ejected, and then Rey actually tripping Miz this time (behind the ref’s back), which led to Miz getting rolled up in a match that took a fraction of the time that the Miz TV segment lasted.

Fans love to boo Miz, but that doesn’t make for good TV. It isn’t making Dominik Mysterio a bigger star to trade wins with Miz, and Rey certainly isn’t getting any juice from it.

It’s just bad, uninspired TV thrown out there to fill 10-12 minutes of time.

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
