9. Hawkins, Ryder Escape Raw With Tag Titles

We gave Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins an “up” for Sunday night’s Raw Tag Team Championship victory because we assumed that they wouldn’t make it out of New York with the titles.

They put the straps on the line in a rematch against The Revival Monday night in a competitive match that ended when Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder hit a Shatter Machine on Ryder, only for Hawkins – the legal man – to sneak a rollup of Dawson to retain.

Yep, Curt Hawkins. Finisher: the rollup.

Two “slipped on a banana peel” victories in a row is enough. No one is buying the duo as a tag team threat, especially if they’re going to win via deceptive rollup. So what’s the plan here?

Fair enough though, we’ll temper this down by noting that WWE let the hometown boys win a title match and title defense in their backyard, so we’ll mostly let this slide as a mild “down.”
