5 Ups And Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Dec 15)

1. The Newest Paul Heyman Guy

Somehow, it€™s a pretty safe bet that the newest Paul Heyman Guy is going to work out a lot better than Curtis Axel or Ryback. It might seem odd for Seth Rollins to side with Heyman and Brock Lesnar €“ and it€™s probably stranger for the WWE World Heavyweight Champion to align himself with a guy who has a Money in the Bank briefcase he can cash in for a title match. But this works for a couple different reasons. First, Rollins is a man without a country. When he sold out his Shield brethren several months back, he sided with the Authority as a way to advance his career. Now that they are no longer in power, Rollins finds himself with his stooge security team and an occasional partner in Kane and possibly Big Show. Backed into a corner after crossing Lesnar once, it made sense to once again €œbuy in€ with another force to maintain his standing in WWE. For Heyman and Lesnar, the old adage to keep your friends close and your enemies closer could easily apply here. Lesnar surely hasn€™t forgotten Rollins curbstomping him and trying to cash in his briefcase at Night of Champions, but it€™s easier to keep an eye on him when he€™s standing next to you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6GlgVn7xhk Lesnar and Rollins aligned puts Heyman in the driver€™s seat in WWE, which could mean for some seriously entertaining programs on the horizon. Time will tell as this develops, but let€™s hold out hope that Rollins ends up far better than Curtis Axel did.
