5 Ups And Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Dec 15)

2. Here Comes The Pain

For three straight pay-per-views and 12 episodes of Raw, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship was nowhere to be seen. The champ had taken his ball and gone home, leaving only an advocate behind to occasionally remind fans that he still existed. Brock Lesnar€™s absence hurt the overall product as main eventers fought over the number one contender€™s spot at two of the three PPVs and people rarely got bent out of shape at not having the richest prize in the business around to chase. All of that changed Monday with Lesnar€™s return to Raw. Thankfully, Brock was not limited to just his segment with Chris Jericho, a somewhat uncomfortable scene with Lesnar demolishing a former six-time world champion in Y2J. While that confrontation helped re-establish Brock as a dominant force, it was his presence in the main event that signaled that he was back. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clpPaJL2d8o Say what you will about John Cena, but he takes a pretty convincing beating. Lesnar threw him around the steel cage like a ragdoll. Granted, Cena was already down from a grueling cage match, but Lesnar€™s dominance still was impressive. It set the stage for what will probably be another solid Cena-Lesnar match at Royal Rumble. Sure, we could have a different opponent and Lesnar was gone for far too long, but this should only help WWE going forward.
