3. Overshadowed: Kelly Kelly With Mike Knox

The on-screen relationship between Mike Knox and Kelly Kelly is a classic example of an instance in which the valet's star totally eclipsed the wrestler she was working with.

Kelly and Knox worked together in the late 2000s and were an on-screen couple that was featured prominently in WWE's ECW relaunch. Knox was the jealous boyfriend who made the crowd angry by forcing his exhibitionist girlfriend to keep her clothes on. While this got 6'6" wrestler some heat in the short term, it soon became clear that the fans were far more interested in the blonde valet than anything Knox was doing.

The lesson here is that if you are going to pair a performer with an attractive female who is essentially portraying a stripper, that wrestler needs to have a strong character or personality, to avoid being overshadowed. Unfortunately, for Knox, he didn't have either of those things at the time.

After the two parted ways, Kelly Kelly would go on to become a star. Knox, on the other hand, struggled to stay relevant, before ultimately being released in 2010.
