5 Ways AEW Is Appealing To Millennials (And 5 Ways It’s Failing)
7. Appealing - Being More Socially Conscious
Millennials appear to be, by and large, far more socially conscious when it comes to the media they’re willing to consume. So if your company has a reputation for being a sleazy one then, its going to turn off many of the Twitter generation, especially when there are so many other alternatives out there for them to choose from.
And with that in mind, it’s a good thing that AEW have tried to represent something of a change in the wrestling industry during its short run thus far, moving it away from its more sordid past towards something that’s a better fit for today’s world.
Sure, they haven’t done a perfect job with this (we’ll get to that later) but with the way they’ve handled the pandemic, the death of Brodie Lee, and Jon Moxley’s recent rehab stint to name but a few, its fair to say that, when compared to the other powerhouse of the industry, AEW is bringing wrestling kicking and screaming into the 21st century at last, and that can only be a good thing.
