5 Ways AEW Is More Effective With Their Roster Than WWE

4. Good Use Of Part Time Performers

Despite having a main roster loaded with top tier talent, WWE have not prioritized developing main event stars. Instead, WWE have relied on bringing back part time talent- often legends- to headline the year's biggest shows. Remember how much time Batista and Triple H were given, both in the build-up to WrestleMania 35 and on 'The Grandest Stage Of Them All'? Did we really need Kane and Shawn Michaels to return for that disastrous tag team match at Crown Jewel?

AEW has been far more effective with its part-time talent. Instead of trying to get a ten minute match out of a legend to pop a rating, AEW have their veterans backstage, helping with production and storylines. AEW has refrained from making part-time wrestlers a focal point, opting to develop and put over younger talent instead. Think about how beneficial TV matches with Chris Jericho were for the development of Darby Allin, Scorpio Sky, and Jungle Boy.

So how has AEW been using its part-timers? Exactly as part-timers should be used: not as centrepieces, but as thoughtful additions that enhance segments or matches. Arn Anderson's spinebuster on Shawn Spears was an excellent spot during the latter's match with Cody at All Out. Diamond Dallas Page carrying Brandi Rhodes to the back after she was ejected from ringside during Cody and Dustin's bout at Double Or Nothing was a wonderful touch.

AEW has prioritized developing a young, athletic roster, while being meticulous and thoughtful about the use of its part-time talent.
