5 Ways The Undertaker Could Retire From WWE

5. WrestleMania 31 Grudge Match VS Brock Lesnar

The most obvious of The Undertaker retirement scenarios is that of a grudge match against the man who did the seemingly impossible and break the 'Dead Man's' streak of 21 consecutive WrestleMania victories at WrestleMania 30, Brock Lesnar. Lesnar is currently billed as not only 'The Conqueror' and 'The Beast' but now he is being heralded by the squawking tones of Paul Heyman as 'The One.' The 'One' man to achieve legendary status at the expense of one greatest wrestlers of all time in The Undertaker. There is little doubt that The Undertaker could return to the WWE with the sole intention of seeking his revenge against Lesnar at WrestleMania 31. The match would be atypical from previous Undertaker WrestleMania matches, in that there would be a different type of associated drama as fans would no longer sit on the edge of their seats worrying about the survival of the streak, but rather sit on the edge of their seats worrying about the survival of The Undertaker himself. The match might not be a classic wrestling bout, particularly if it parallels the underwhelming Undertaker/Lesnar match at WrestleMania 30, but as it progresses the WWE Universe might become aware that The Undertaker is willing to go to any length, including risking his own health, to exact vengeance and defeat 'The One.' Perhaps the referee tries to initiate a TKO, but The Undertaker persists and some how he defeats Lesnar and with it re-establishes his dominance at WrestleMania. However such is the physical sacrifice The Undertaker has been forced to make in such a brutal match, the druids similar to the weeks running up to Unforgiven 2007, carry his body away symbolising The Undertaker's retirement from the WWE. The segment might include the mysterious urn that so often was associated with The Undertaker for much of his career, playing a symbolic role in the procession of The Undertaker from the WrestleMania ring. While many fans would wholeheartedly disagree with this retirement scenario, it would symbolically conclude The Undertaker's gimmick, offer many Undertaker fans retribution against Lesnar (particularly as their worst fears of Lesnar doing nothing with the streak win have seemingly been confirmed with his recent departure from the WWE) and most importantly allow the WWE Creative Team an opportunity to give one of their most cherished and lucrative wrestlers a unique retirement in the traditional sense without the need for him to break character.
