AJ Styles was shepherded out of sight after relinquishing the WWE Title to Daniel Bryan just weeks in advance of Survivor Series, and he only resurfaced once the TLC churn began in earnest. It was believed he'd duck out for a little bit once more after this Sunday's tilt at his old belt.

After holding WWE's (nominal) top prize for just over a year, Styles has earned his time off the road, but his long-awaited holiday might just be cancelled. As the company's perennial champ for the better part of the last twenty four months, AJ appearing on Raw is definitely enough to inspire fresh intrigue - and what better time to spring the surprise than once TLC - and his programme with Bryan - is done and dusted? This, unlike most of the probable ideas swimming around in WWE's think tank, is one that could actually have an impact - at least, in the short term. There is no quick fix to this rut.

He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
