5 Ways WWE Have Damaged Bray Wyatt
3. The Wyatt Family Split Up Too Soon
The Bray Wyatt character is that of an evil cult leader who believes himself to be more monster than human (thanks Wikipedia). When he made his bow, this is exactly what he was. He had two followers, two followers who could quite clearly out-power Bray but had fallen under his spell, as is the way with cults.
The Wyatt Family made their debut on July 8th 2013 by attacking Kane. Just over a year later, on September 29th 2014, Wyatt declared Luke Harper and Erick Rowan to be free, and he himself was alone moving forward.
What good is a cult leader with no cult? It isn't as if anything was done with Harper and Rowan immediately after the split either. Harper had a blink-and-you'll-miss-it run with the Intercontinental title, and Rowan did a Rubik's cube. That's about it. Why split them up if nothing was going to be done?
Bray Wyatt is a cult leader, and a cult leader without a cult is just a wacko spouting nonsense. WWE have since seen the error of their ways and put them back together, albeit with Braun Strowman in place of Rowan. It remains to be seen whether this is too little, too late.
