1. Chris Benoit
After learning his trade in Stampede Wrestling and Japan Benoit moved to the WCW as part of the New Japan Pro Wrestling and WCW exchange deal. Benoit impressed immediately at WCW and became a member of the new Four Horsemen. This was a short lived endeavor, although it gave Benoit a platform to become champion in the WCW. Benoit went on to become a multiple tag team champion and Television Title Champion as well as having some of the best matches in wrestling history. Chosen by Bret Hart for Owen Hart's memorial match, this and becoming WCW World Heavyweight Champion represented probably the proudest points in WCW for Chris Benoit. Benoit left WCW before the demise of the company along with Eddie Guerrero, Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko as part of the Radicalz, with Benoit going on to win the Intercontinental Championship three times in 2000. He would make a real mark in WWE in his feud against Kurt Angle - included a great match at Wrestlemania X-7 - and would also have great feuds with Eddie Guerrero and Brock Lesnar between 2002 to 2004 beofre teaming up with Angle for a memorable tag team title reign. Benoit would win the World Heavyweight title at Wrestlemania XX against two WWE icons Shawn Michaels and Triple H, becoming a great WWE superstar, regarded as one of the best in ring wrestlers the WWE has ever seen. Although he had a great career in WCW it was in the WWE that he established himself as a legend. Unfortunately all of Chris Benoit's achievements are overshadowed by the murder and suicide of his family and then himself in 2007. WWE rarely show any repeats of his matches and he is not mentioned in any present broadcasting, despite becoming part of the Hall of Fame. Although his history is obviously chequered beyond repair, he is still undeniably one of the greatest WWE wrestlers of all time.
